Plant extraction
Extraction of herbs, spices and seed with supercritical carbon dioxide is already an established industrial process. Hence this area has been active in the research group from 1986, we are happy to help anyone thinking about developing a tailor made product using carbon dioxide. As research, combining extraction techniques for by-product valorization is within our area of interest.
Reaction medium
Carbon dioxide is mostly inert, apolar medium, therefore it may serve as a suitable and tunable reaction medium as well. With the series of autoclaves, continuous and continuous setups available reaction kinetics, combined reaction and separation setups can be studied. Especially, enzyme-catalyzed reactions, including enantioselective reactions, have been investigated.
Phase equilibria
The modelling and measurement of phase equilibria is both of intrest.
There is opportunity to engage in both modelling (Aspen, Chemcad) and experimental (gas-liquid or solid-liquid) work.
